Jaap Murre has been at the University of Amsterdam since 1995, where he currently is Full Professor of Theoretical Neuropsychology. Since 2013, he is also a Principal Investigator in the NWO Gravitation (Zwaartekracht) project 'Language in Interaction'. From 2001 to 2008, he held an Endowed Chair in Computational Models of Cognition at the Artificial Intelligence Department of Maastricht University. In 1998, he received an NWO PIONIER grant to establish a research group at the University of Amsterdam. Following his Ph.D. on learning and categorization in neural networks (1992, Leiden University), he worked as a scientist at the MRC Applied Psychology Unit in Cambridge (UK) until 1995. His H-index is 28 in Google Scholar (2944 citations, roughly 130 publications).
